Ben & Veronique + Joshua Lee & Caleb

September 14, 2009 at 12:31 am (Uncategorized)

I was privileged to get to go along with Kristin on this photo shoot to take Ben and Veronique’s family pictures. They are so fun and secretly artsy and their kids are simply adorable in every way. :)

Here’s a couple pics I snapped during their shoot. Thanks for the edits Kristin!

Where in the world have I been?

July 20, 2009 at 2:25 am (Uncategorized)

You might be wondering where in the world I’ve been lately! Well, Jeremy and I bought a house last month, so needless to say, we’ve been CRAZY busy! Between looking for the house, getting the house, repairing the house, and moving into the house, it’s been busy around here. Busy, but good! We love our house and have had LOTS friends come and help us paint, clean, move, etc. They’re awesome!

Then, this past weekend, my aunt and Gma came to visit us. It was SO good to see them and have them here. I really missed Gpa, though, and wish he could have come too. The pain of losing him is still very raw.

Here’s a pic of Gma, Pat, and I:Sam 340

Also in June, Jeremy and I had our 2nd anniversary. I absolutely LOVE him and LOVE being married to him! :)

Here’s us on our honeymoon:

Here we are on our first anniversary. Jeremy surprised me by arranging a photo shoot with Kristin. She did an amazing job!!!

And, here’s a pic from this weekend. Not technically on our anniversary, but pretty close!

Well, that’s all for now… Hopefully things will settle down around here and I can update this more often. :) Have a great week everyone!

A Crafty Fun Giveaway

April 20, 2009 at 5:23 pm (Uncategorized)

So my friend Betsy had a craft giveaway where the first 5 people to respond to her post would receive something made by her.  The only catch was that you had to offer the giveaway on your own blog.  Well, I was quick on the draw and was the 2nd person to respond on her blog. (Have you seen how crafty she is?!?! Check out her blog!)  So now I am offering you that same chance.  Here are the rules:

  1. You must be one of the first 5 people to leave me a comment on my blog.
  2. You must offer this on your own blog.
  3. I will make something just for you.  Which means I’m going to try to make it something you’ll like.
  4. You must be patient with me to finish this project – no 6-8 week delivery guarantee, although I will try to do it in a timely fashion.
So … who wants to win something?

Cleaning Out the Archives

March 24, 2009 at 1:40 am (Uncategorized)

Hey again after way too long without a post! Life is busy as usual, but good! :) J and I went on a nice long walk today, one of our favorite pastimes, to enjoy the great weather! The trees are beginning to bloom and are so pretty!

Anyway, I was looking through some pics from Ben and Becca’s photo shoot at Christmas time that I was privileged to join in on. Here’s a couple from the day…there’s a couple for you, Kristin. :)

Finally, new pillows!

January 31, 2009 at 3:44 am (Uncategorized)

As many of you know from coming over to our place or from pics, I absolutely hated our couch pillows! When our couch was delivered, they threw in free couch pillows. Nice thought, but they are hideous! I can’t stand orange, especially burnt orange, so have never been able to stand the ugly things staring at me from the couch. They look like they are straight from the 70’s.

When we first got them, I just wanted to drop them off in the dumpster, but my hubby loved them because they were comfy and wanted to keep them. So, I went to plan B…cover them. I got some fabric and a $20 sewing machine (note–don’t waste your money on cheap sewing machines…it just doesn’t work out) and went to work. Unfortunately, the sewing machine vibrated across the table and my “just eyeball it” measuring method wasn’t working. The pillow turned out looking like a deformed lump. So, back to the ugly couch pillows.

Plan C-buy new pillows. I’m cheap, so I’ve been looking for a year for new pillows that were affordable, but couldn’t find anything. Then finally, a year and a half after we bought the couch, I found the perfect pillow! YAY! So, HA, no more ugly couch pillows (at least in my opinion)! :)

Our new, cute pillows! Yay for Target!

Julia and Lexi

January 11, 2009 at 11:30 pm (Uncategorized)

While in FL, I was able to do a photo shoot of my best friend since high school, Julia, and her previous neighbor, Lexi. Lexi is super sweet and gets to spend lots of time with Julia and her family. I had a lot of fun hanging out with them, as always! :) Wish we lived closer together!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that my Grandpa passed away this Monday. He got very sick with an infection. Jeremy and I made it to FL on Saturday and were able to spend all weekend with him, which I am so thankful for. The family viewing is tomorrow and the funeral is Monday. My family and I appreciate all of your prayers during this immensely hard time.

Welcome to my new page! As many of you know, I’ve been learning photography from the amazing, talented Kristin. She’s a great teacher and I’m learning so much from her. She’s been letting me come with her on her photo shoots, which has been very helpful and has given me so much useful practice. Casey has also been so helpful and has answered about a hundred questions that I’ve thrown at her. :) Check out their work at Poiema Photography—Casey, Kristin, and Angey are awesome!

So, at Kristin’s prompting, I’m going to start posting a couple pics every now and then of photos I’ve taken at various shoots. Here’s some pics from a photo shoot I did in FL of one of my best friend’s, Amy, and her family.  Enjoy, but remember, I’m just learning! ;) Thanks for the edits, Kristin!
